Penn State scored a huge win on the recruiting trail on Thursday afternoon.

4-star defensive lineman Dani Dennis-Sutton picked the Nittany Lions over multiple SEC offers, including Alabama and Georgia.

Here’s his announcement:

Coach James Franklin also acknowledged his commitment:

According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Dennis-Sutton is the No. 50 overall player in the country for the class of 2022. The service also ranks him as the No. 9 defensive lineman and the No. 1 player from the state of Maryland.

Dennis-Sutton hails from Owings Mills, Maryland, and is listed at 6-foot-5, 250 pounds.

He’s now the top-ranked recruit in Penn State’s 2022 class, which ranks No. 2 nationally (behind only Ohio State) according to 247Sports Composite rankings.

Dennis-Sutton is Penn State’s fifth defensive pass rush commitment in this class as the Nittany Lions look to improve that unit. He joins 4-star Tyrese Fearbry, 4-star Ken Talley, 4-star Zane Durant and 3-star Kaleb Artis.

Penn State has now received nine commitments in the month of July.

Prospects in the class of 2022 can officially sign with their programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
