Penn State has added talent, experience and depth to the offensive line. After the struggles it endured in 2021, it was a major focal point for James Franklin and his staff.

The Nittany Lions secured a commitment from All-Ivy League offensive lineman Hunter Nourzad on Monday. The former Cornell starter will have two seasons of eligibility to utilize in State College.

Nourzad made his announcement with a post on Twitter. He joins a Penn State offensive line that struggled to catch its footing at any point during the 2021 campaign.

“Thank you to everyone who recruited me during this process!” Nourzad wrote. “I’ve decided to commit to Penn State to continue my football career!”

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Nourzad is listed at 6-foot-4, 300 pounds. He started in 20 consecutive games for Cornell over the course of his career.

Nourzad is a two-time All-Ivy League selection, earning second-team honors in 2019 and first-team recognition in 2021. He will fit a direct need for the Nittany Lions’ offense for the 2022 season.

Nourzad will be immediately eligible for Penn State in 2022.
