Penn State grabbed a commitment from 2023 edge rusher Joseph Mupoyi on Monday. Mupoyi announced his decision with a post on Twitter.

Mupoyi comes to State College from Oakdale, Connecticut. The 6-foot-5, 230 pound edge rusher is a 3-star recruit from the 2023 class per the 247Sports Composite. He also had offers from Michigan, Maryland, and Rutgers.

The young edge rusher is the No. 45 player at his position and No. 4 prospect from the state of Connecticut in his class.

Penn State’s 2023 class now has 20 overall commits. The Nittany Lions sit just behind Ohio State in the B1G rankings. Penn State has one 5-star commit, 14 4-star commits, and 1 3-star commit.

Mupoyi is not the first edge rusher to commit to Penn State from the 2023 class. Mupoyi joins 4-star commits Ta’Mere Robinson and Jameial Lyons as all three will be playing for DC Manny Diaz next fall.

Here is a highlight tape of Mupoyi from this past season at St. Thomas More High School:
