Penn State football names team captains for 2023 season
Penn State football went on social media on Saturday to release its team captains for the year. The Nittany Lions will have six in total.
There will be plenty of veterans representing the team in 2023. DE Adisa Isaac, TE Theo Johnson, OL Olu Fashanu, DB Keaton Ellis, WR Malick Meiga, and LB Dominic Deluca will all be captains.

Isaac is coming off a year where he had 4 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, and 28 total tackles. Johnson will be looking to main the TE position now that Brenton Strange is with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson finished the 2022 season with 328 yards receiving and 4 touchdowns.
Fashanu is expected to hold down the offensive line. He appeared in eight games last season as fans will be hoping he can stay healthy this year. If Fashanu has another strong season, he’s likely to be a first-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
The Nittany Lions are feeling good after a victory in the Rose Bowl over Utah to cap off the 2022 season. It is now Drew Allar’s turn to run the offense in Happy Valley.
The 2023 campaign starts against West Virginia at Beaver Stadium on Sept. 2. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
