Penn State’s secondary got a little thinner this week.

On Wednesday afternoon, freshman defensive back Isaiah Humphries announced his decision to transfer from the program. He sent out a message on Twitter to make his announcement.

Humphries is a former 3-star recruit and was a member of the Nittany Lions’ 2018 class. He enrolled with the program last January.

In the statement Humphries issued, he says he will not be with the program through the bowl game.

Humphries, a native of Texas, had 20 offers as a prospect. He chose Penn State over Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Colorado and Houston.  In addition to Penn State, he had offers from three other B1G programs: Illinois, Indiana and Northwestern.

Humphries did not state where he plans to transfer. He did not see the field for the Nittany Lions in 2018.
