Penn State will be without one of its top scorers when it travels to Mackey Arena to take on Purdue Tuesday night.

According to 247Sports, sophomore guard Myreon Jones will miss Tuesday’s game due to illness. It will be the second-straight game he has missed for the Nittany Lions. He did not play against Minnesota over the weekend, but Penn State still pulled out an 83-77 win.

The 13th-ranked Nittany Lions have won six straight games and currently sit No. 2 in the B1G standings with an 8-4 record in conference contests. Overall, Penn State is 18-5. It is 4-3 on the road.

Jones is averaging 14 points per game, which ranks second on the team behind only Lamar Stevens, who is averaging 17.6 points per game.

Purdue is on a bit of a streak itself, winning three straight games, including road contests against Northwestern and Indiana. The Boilermakers also blew out Iowa at home last Wednesday. Matt Painter’s crew is 14-10 on the season with a 7-6 record against B1G opponents.
