Penn State has a showdown with a big-time SEC opponent this weekend. The No.22 Auburn Tigers come up north to Happy Valley.

ESPN College GameDay has announced that they will be making the trip to Penn State ahead of the primetime matchup with Auburn.

Penn State has an impressive streak with ESPN’s premier pregame show as they are the only school to host College GameDay each of the last 5 seasons.

The opponents in the previous four seasons are 2017 Michigan, 2018 Ohio State, 2019 Michigan, 2020 Ohio State. The Nittany Lions defeated the Wolverines in both contests but lost to the Buckeyes both times.

This is the first time a non-conference opponent will be a part of College GameDay with Penn State in the last 5 seasons.

Penn State is off to a hot start as they come in as the No.10 team in this weeks’ AP Top-25 Poll. They have defeated Wisconsin on the road and Ball State at home this season.

Auburn comes in at No.22 with wins over Akron and Alabama State at home. The Tigers’ first test is the annual White-Out Game in Happy Valley.

College GameDay from State College, PA., will begin at 9:00 a.m. ET and the game will be in primetime at 7:30 ET on ABC.
