Penn State made college football history by beating Rutgers on Saturday. In doing so, they joined rarified air among college football programs.

Saturday’s win was No. 900 for the Nittany Lions. The 23-7 win at Rutgers lifts Penn State to 2-5 on the season.

With Penn State’s victory, only eight teams in the nation have 900 wins all-time. Four of the teams are from the Big Ten. The Big XII with Texas (920) and Oklahoma (914) are the next most-represented conference in the top eight.

Michigan (965) is followed by Ohio State (928) is the winningest programs in college football history. Penn State is now just four wins behind by Nebraska (900). The Cornhuskers beat Purdue 37-27 on Saturday.
