Penn State has added a new commitment to its 2024 recruiting class. Pledge No. 15 comes from a sought-after offensive lineman out of Florida.

Deryc Plazz from Jacksonville announced his commitment to the Nittany Lions on Sunday. He tweeted a note with the following:

“First and foremost I would like to thank God. Without him, and the people he’s placed in my life I wouldn’t be in this position today. I want to thank the many programs, and coaches that have taken the time to build relationships with me, and recruited me over time. This entire process has been nothing short of amazing! Thank vou to Coach Rock and the Rocker family for being there for me when I least deserved it, and taking the time to invest in me, and inform me of the many great things I’m capable of achieving. Last but not least I would like to thank my family for sacrificing for me to achieve my dreams, and always instilling in me that I am great. Everything comes to an end eventually and I’m comfortable that now is that time. After conversations with this most important to me we’ve came to the decision that I will be closing my recruitment and committing to… PENN STATE UNIVERSITY”

An Andrew Jackson standout, Plazz is listed at 6-5, 265 pounds. On the 247Sports composite rankings, Plazz is rated 3-stars, the No. 90 offensive tackle, No. 150 Florida product and No. 1,080 prospect overall nationally in the 2024 recruiting class. On May 20, Plazz tweeted that he was narrowing his 37 scholarship offers to a final 5 of Penn State, Duke, Florida State, Miami and NC State.
