Penn State is growing its 2025 recruiting class with the addition of a blue-chip linebacker.

Alex Tatsch, an in-state prospect, announced his pledge to play for James Franklin’s program on Sunday.

“I want to give my sincere thanks to my parents, family, and friends for their unwavering love and support,” Tatsch wrote in a note posted on social media. “I’m equally grateful to my coaches, teammates, and the community that has been an important part of this journey. Today, I proudly announce my commitment to Penn State University.”

A standout of Greater Latrobe (Pennsylvania) High School, Tatsch is listed as measuring 6-2, 213 pounds. On the 247Sports Composite, Tatsch is rated 4-stars, the No. 10 player in the state of Pennsylvania, No. 36 linebacker and No. 307 prospect overall in the Class of 2025.

Tatsch has picked up scholarship offers from 20 programs at this stage in his recruitment. He verbally pledged to PSU over Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh and others.

With Tatsch on board, the Nittany Lions now have nine verbal commitments in a class ranked No. 6 nationally on the Composite. PSU fans can get a preview of what he brings to State College by checking out his Hudl highlights below:
