Penn State added a significant piece to its 2025 recruiting class on Sunday afternoon.

The Nittany Lions secured a commitment from offensive lineman Michael Troutman out of New Jersey. He chose Penn State over programs such as Michigan State, Rutgers, Syracuse, Boston College and others.

Here’s his announcement:

Troutman attended Penn State’s junior day this past weekend. He’s already taken multiple trips to campus during his recruitment. He’ll be eligible to make an official visit to Happy Valley later this spring or summer.

Troutman does not yet have a 247Sports Composite ranking. However, it’s still very early in the 2025 recruiting cycle so that will likely change over the coming months as evaluators are able to scout him.

Troutman attends DePaul Catholic High School in Wayne, New Jersey. He’s listed at 6-foot-2, 270 pounds. At that size, he likely projects to be an interior offensive lineman at the next level.

Penn State now has 11 commits in the class of 2025. The class sits at No. 6 nationally, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Here are some highlights from Troutman’s junior season of high school ball:
