Penn State redshirt freshman defensive tackle Corey Bolds announced via Twitter that he will transfer from the university.

Bolds is a former 3-star tackle who chose to sign with Penn State on National Signing Day over other programs, including Rutgers. The Paramus, New Jersey, native spent less than one year in the Penn State program.

“My time here has been memorable & I will forever cherish the bonds with guys I can call my brothers,” Bolds wrote on his Twitter account. “With that being said, I’m announcing that I will no longer attend the university.”

Losing Bolds isn’t a massive deal for the Nittany Lions’ defense, but losing depth at the position isn’t ideal. With Bolds’ transfer, Penn State now has 85 scholarships, which is the NCAA limit.
