There’s a new top 2022 recruiting class in college football.

Alabama jumped into the top spot Friday afternoon after getting a 5-star tight end to commit, knocking Penn State to No. 2 in the rankings. The Nittany Lions were No. 1 for more than 2 months, according to 247Sports’ Sean Fitz.

Alabama landed a commitment from Jaleel Skinner, the top-ranked tight end recruit in the country, on Friday. It’s the Crimson Tide’s second 5-star recruit from the Class of 2022, which put them over the top for the nation’s best 2022 recruiting class.

Penn State continues to do work on the recruiting trail, though, with 26 players — including 14 4-star recruits — committed for next year. The Nittany Lions even got a player to commit on a game day this year. Talk about relentless.

Even though Penn State isn’t the “top” recruiting class in the country anymore, it’s still the best in the B1G. James Franklin has certainly put the program in position for future success.
