Penn State continues to recruit at an incredibly high level. The Nittany Lions added another 4-star talent to the class on Friday night.

Kaytron Allen, a 5-foot-11, 220-pound back from IMG Academy, made his announcement on Instagram. He ranks as the No. 10 running back and No. 132 overall talent in the 2022 class.

Several programs showed interest in the 4-star back, but Penn State beat teams like Alabama, Georgia, Florida and Michigan State for his commitment.

Last season, Allen was a member of an 8-0 IMG Academy squad. He rushed for 515 yards and scored 9 touchdowns on the ground while also totaling 140 receiving yards on 11 catches.

Before transferring to IMG Academy, Allen played for Norfolk Norview in Virginia in 2019 and rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 16 touchdowns on the ground.

From 247Sports analyst Andrew Ivins 247Sports analyst Andrew Ivins:

Stout body type with the desired bulk for the position. Already up and over 215 pounds. A well-rounded running back that has produced ever since he arrived at the powerhouse that is IMG Academy. Quick out of the chute. Good vision at the line of scrimmage allows him to identify blocks and weave through traffic. Elite start/stop burst opens up lanes and frequently gets him out of trouble. Keeps legs pumping through contact. Outstanding balance and low center of gravity makes him even more difficult to bring down. Experienced in pass protection. Above-average route runner that can move the chains with screens and swing passes. Plays fast in pads, but seems to lack a true top-end gear.

Penn State’s recruiting class ranks No. 2 in the B1G, behind only Ohio State. The Nittany Lions also rank high nationally.
