A highly-touted wide receiver from the Class of 2022 recently announced his top three schools, and one Big Ten program made the cut.

Darrius Clemons, a 4-star wideout out of Portland, announced via his Twitter account on Sunday his top three choices for schools. They included Auburn, Oregon and Penn State.

Per 247Sports, Clemons had offers from a who’s who list of schools. Other Big Ten schools to offer Clemons include Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, Minnesota, Northwestern and Wisconsin.

Looking at the top three finalists, Oregon makes sense for the Portland native. The other two may have to do with recruiting efforts. Penn State’s recruitment of Clemons has been led by Nittany Lions wide receivers coach Taylor Stubblefield.

Standing at six-feet, three inches and weighing 205 pounds, Clemons has the looks of a stud wide receiver on paper and has received love because of it. When it comes to 247’s composite rankings, Clemons is the top receiver out of Oregon the 20th best when it comes to the Class of 2022.

If Clemons does choose to head to Happy Valley, he will likely have the chance to fill the shoes of Jahan Dotson, who wowed a lot of people during a disappointing 2020 season for Penn State. Let’s not forget Dotson’s three incredible catches against Ohio State.

If Clemons can do something like this in a Penn State uniform, he will most likely become a fan favorite.
