Penn State and Maryland had an opportunity to land the top junior college defensive back in the country, but didn’t get the commitment.

On Monday, 4-star defensive back De’Jahn Warren committed to Georgia, picking the Bulldogs over Penn State and Maryland. He had kept the Nittany Lions and Terrapins in his final three a few weeks ago before making a final decision.

Warren is from Lackawanna Community College. He’s ranked as the No. 2 JUCO product in the 2021 class, according to 247Sports. Warren announced his top three with a video on Twitter.

In his first season at Lackawanna, Warren was named an All-American at the junior college level. He finished his freshman campaign with 35 tackles, 5 interceptions and 3 forced fumbles. He also broke up 6 passes and registered a tackle for loss.

Lackawanna ended the 2019 season with a 10-1 record, with the lone loss coming in the NJCAA Championship Game, falling to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College.

Warren is a native of Hyattsville, Maryland.
