Penn State misses out on 4-star basketball recruit
Penn State has missed out on one of its top basketball recruits.
4-star guard Otega Oweh, the No. 3-ranked prospect in New Jersey, announced he committed to Oklahoma Friday afternoon. Oweh delayed his commitment last week due to a scheduling conflict, but committed to the Sooners during his appearance on CBS Sports HQ.

Five 247sports analysts predicted Oweh would end up in Happy Valley, but Oklahoma and new coach Porter Moser came in hot on the recruiting trail to scoop him up. Illinois cracked his top 5 teams, but Penn State had far more buzz.
It’s not the news Nittany Lions fans wanted to hear, but Micah Shrewsberry still has a talented recruiting class so far, led by 4-star center Kebba Njie. Penn State currently has the 11th-ranked 2022 recruiting class in the country, according to 247sports. It’s also the 3rd-best in the B1G, trailing only Ohio State and Indiana.
