Penn State is 1 of 3 finalists for 4-star quarterback prospect Michael Van Buren.

Van Buren announced his top 3 of Penn State, Maryland and Oregon on Friday afternoon.

Here’s that announcement:

Van Buren has long been Penn State’s top quarterback target in this class. He currently ranks as the No. 130 overall player and the No. 11 quarterback in the country for this cycle, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He’s listed at 6-foot, 185 pounds. He attends St. Frances Academy in Baltimore, Maryland.

Penn State is the favorite to land Van Buren’s commitment, according to 247Sports Crystal Ball projections. Van Buren visited Penn State earlier this month.

The Nittany Lions already have 10 commitments in the class of 2024. However, they still need a quarterback in this class. Overall, Penn State’s group ranks No. 7 nationally per 247Sports Composite rankings.
