Penn State OL critical of rushing attack: 'It's definitely been below expectation'
When No. 20 Penn State takes the field against Ohio State in Columbus this weekend, the Nittany Lions offense will be facing one of the toughest defenses they’re likely to see this season.
The Penn State rushing attack has struggled, gaining only 832 yards compared to the air attack that has 1,775 yards. Against Illinois, the Nittany Lions managed just 62 yards during their 9-overtime, 20-18 loss. PSU offensive lineman Mike Miranda knows they need to be better.
“It’s definitely been below expectation. It’s something that we’re focused on heavily in practice right now and for the rest of the season. It’s just about being detailed and more physical,” said Miranda

The Penn State offense is ranked seventh in the B1G, while the defense ranks third. The Nittany Lions have dropped two straight games to B1G opponents in back-to-back weeks, with the loss to the Illini knocking the Nittany Lions down from No. 7 to No. 20 in the AP poll. They currently sit in fourth place in the B1G East division, with a conference record of 2-2.
The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes take to the field in a prime time matchup on Saturday, Oct. 30 with a 6:30 PM kickoff in Columbus.
