Penn State finally got the offense moving on its third drive of the game, finding the end zone with a Sean Clifford to Jahan Dotson touchdown.

To start the game, Maryland’s defense forced back-to-back 3-and-outs from the Nittany Lions. Then, on the third possession, Penn State covered 75 yards in 4 plays.

The deciding blow was a 38-yard strike to Dotson. Clifford’s throw was nice, but it was a brilliant move on the route that sprung Dotson.

After turning his man toward the middle of the field, Dotson hit a cut back to the outside. It gave him the space needed to make it 7-0, Nittany Lions.
