Penn State picks up commitment from FCS transfer WR

A transfer wide receiver from the FCS ranks is headed to Penn State, reportedly as a walk-on.

Former Colgate wide receiver Jake Spencer tweeted a commitment announcement Monday. Alexis Yoder of The Daily Collegian and Greg Pickel of On3 report he’ll be a walk-on for the Nittany Lions.

Spencer was listed as a sophomore on Colgate’s 2021 online roster. A Haverford School product from Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, the Colgate roster lists Spencer at 5-11, 190 pounds.

This season, Spencer had 2 carries for 3 yards, 3 catches for 14 yards and 20 kick returns for 378 yards.
