Penn State picks up pledge from JUCO defensive back
A defensive back from Lackawanna Community College will be heading to Penn State.
Wednesday, the Nittany Lions received a verbal pledge from junior college safety Tyrece Mills, who just completed his freshman year at Lackawanna. The Philadelphia native is a member of the 2022 recruiting class and will spend one more season at the JUCO level before arriving in State College.
Mills made his announcement with a post on Twitter. The 6-foot, 205-pound safety becomes the 10th player of the 2022 recruiting cycle to commit to Penn State.

Per 247Sports, Lackawanna played just two games during the 2021 spring season, but Mills started in both contests. He was credited with 10 tackles, which included 7 solo stops and 2 for loss, and also recorded an interception.
Currently, Mills does not have any ratings from 247Sports.
With the commitment from Mills, Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class ranks No. 6 nationally and No. 2 in the B1G, behind only Ohio State.
