Penn State’s 2022 recruiting class has added another member.

Over the weekend, the Nittany Lions picked up a verbal pledge from 3-star offensive lineman Maleek McNeil out of Massachusetts. He made his announcement with a post on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.

“I want to thank the programs that recruited me, thank you for seeing my potential and for giving me so much of your time! I have nothing but love for all of you and wish you the best,” McNeil wrote. “Last but not least, PENN STATE, Coach Franklin, Coach Trautwein and the whole staff THANK YOU!!! Long time coming and I can’t wait to get to work, be a part of this amazing program and COMPETE with you!!!”

McNeil is a 6-foot-8, 340-pound offensive tackle, per 247Sports. He ranks as the No. 8 prospect out of Massachusetts and is listed as the No. 66 offensive tackle in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

McNeil held eight total offers during the recruiting process. He picked Penn State over other programs like Boston College, Rutgers, Auburn, Duke, Pitt, Central Michigan and UMass.

Penn State now has nine players committed in the 2022 class. The Nittany Lions rank third in the B1G and ninth nationally.
