Penn State-Pittsburgh football: score, live updates, stats
Penn State started the 2018 season ranked No. 10, but the Associated Press dropped the Nittany Lions to No. 13 following a close call with App State, in which overtime was needed to secure a 45-38 win for PSU. While James Franklin’s squad primary focus is certainly getting to 2-0, fans are likely hoping that win a Power 5 opponent, in this case Pittsburgh out of the ACC, on the road would give PSU a rankings boost heading into Week 3. Below, find kickoff time, TV channel information and odds for the Penn State-Pittsburgh football game.

The lead up
If Pat Narduzzi ever decides to leave coaching, he shouldn’t have any trouble landing a job as a fight promoter.
The Pitt head coach has been playing up the rivalry between the Panthers and Penn State for the last two weeks, taking several not-so-subtle jabs at the Nittany Lions over the course of the last two weeks. But his latest comments on Penn State safety Lamont Wade might light a fire under James Franklin and company.
Last year, after Penn State defeated in-state rival Pitt, Franklin sat down for his post-game interview and uttered a phrase that continues to follow him.
“I know last year for their win it was like the Super Bowl. But for us, this was just like beating Akron.”
A year later, he’s still being asked about those comments.
“I still think it’s being misinterpreted,” Franklin said during his weekly press conference. “This is the biggest game in the world. This is the Super Bowl for us. It is the most important game on our schedule. Why? Because it’s the game we’re playing this week.
“This week is a huge game for us, I’ve never denied that from the very beginning. This is the most important game on our schedule. It’s the Super Bowl. Most important game in the universe. I don’t know how much clearer I can be on that.”
