Penn State is planning to add to its special teams staff this offseason.
StateCollege.com reported on Monday night that the Penn State careers website had a listing for a “Special Teams analyst and analytics coordinator.” The posting comes shortly after James Franklin and the Nittany Lions hired Joe Lorig as the special teams coordinator.
Hiring a slew of analysts isn’t new for Penn State, according to StateCollege.com. Former special teams coach Phil Galiano previously served in an advisor role before being promoted prior to the 2018 season.
While most of James Franklin’s key staff is in place, it appears that he’s still putting some finishing touches on some of the other roles.
The Nittany Lions finished the 2018 season 9-4.
