Penn State is set to reunite with former personnel staffer Khalil Ahmad, according to a report.

That’s per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, who notes that Ahmad will be leaving his role as Syracuse’s director of personnel and recruitment to re-join the Nittany Lions. He left Penn State for the job with Syracuse back in December, but will now return to Happy Valley.

Ahmad announced on social media earlier this month that he was leaving Syracuse. He was hired by Fran Brown, but also had a previous stint at Syracuse with former head coach Dino Babers.

Prior to leaving Penn State, he was the program’s recruiting coordinator for personnel and recruitment.

Ahmad is considered to be a top recruiter, particularly with his connections in New Jersey. Penn State signed 3-star safety Vaboue Toure out of the Garden State in the class of 2024.

Overall, Penn State is coming off of a very strong 2024 recruiting cycle. The Nittany Lions signed 25 prospects and have the nation’s No. 15-ranked class, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
