For many players, the 2021 NFL Draft was an exciting time as they heard their names called to begin their NFL careers. For many others, the draft brought disappointment.

Despite a four-year career with the Nittany Lions, safety LaMont Wade was among those players that experienced the bitter feeling of not having their name called in the draft. Fortunately for Wade, he was still able to land an opportunity, signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers after going undrafted.

On Sunday, Wade reacted to the feeling of going undrafted.

“All my life I been fighting, scratching, & clawing for any type of position,” wrote Wade in a post on Twitter. “You’ll probably see the best version of me you’ve ever seen, and I mean that.”

Going undrafted may have been a surprise with bitter feelings for Wade, but the main thing moving forward is that he has an opportunity. Hopefully, he is able to carve out a role for himself with the Steelers and grow from there.
