The John Mackey Award is given to the nation’s top tight end at the end of the season. However, each week, an award is given out to the most spectacular player at that position for their single game performance.

Penn State tight end Pat Freiermuth has won the weekly award once already this season. But as of Tuesday afternoon, he’s won it twice:

Penn State defeated Michigan State this past Saturday 28-7. The Nittany Lions were in control throughout. Freiermuth caught five passes for 60 yards. That’s fine.

What’s better than fine were his three touchdowns.

Talk about efficiency.
