Penn State unveils breakdown of ‘Generations of Greatness’ uniforms

Penn State is bringing back an incredible look for Week 8, rolling with the “Generations of Greatness” uniform.
Thursday evening, Penn State unveiled a graphic breaking down all the details featured in the look. It’s an awesome look, and each detail carries with it a certain significance.
The striped socks are a nod to the early 1970s while the white cleats are an homage to the 1979 Sugar Bowl. Other items featured in the uniform are a grey facemask, a blue stripe on the pants, and a Lion Shrine emblem on the jersey. Some of the details date all the way back to the 1940s while others were used as recently as 2011.

This weekend, Penn State will host Illinois. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on ABC.
