Penn State is bringing back an incredible look for Week 8, rolling with the “Generations of Greatness” uniform.

Thursday evening, Penn State unveiled a graphic breaking down all the details featured in the look. It’s an awesome look, and each detail carries with it a certain significance.

The striped socks are a nod to the early 1970s while the white cleats are an homage to the 1979 Sugar Bowl. Other items featured in the uniform are a grey facemask, a blue stripe on the pants, and a Lion Shrine emblem on the jersey. Some of the details date all the way back to the 1940s while others were used as recently as 2011.

Here’s a look at the uniforms:

This weekend, Penn State will host Illinois. Saturday’s kickoff is set for 12 pm EST on ABC.
