Penn State’s Daniel George announced on Sunday that he will be heading into the transfer portal. George was a redshirt junior this season, and will have 2 years of eligibility left.

George has been with the Nittany Lions since 2018. He played in 11 games for them this season, and 35 total in his collegiate career. He also had 285 yards receiving and 1 touchdown during his time in Happy Valley.

Here’s what George had to say about his decision to transfer:

“I want to thank Coach Franklin and the whole coaching staff for developing me as not only a football player but as a man,” said George. “I also want to thank the academic staff and professors for their continued support throughout my journey. To my brothers, thank you for always pushing me to reach my full potential. The memories we made together are irreplaceable. I also want to thank the whole Penn State community. I’m grateful for all the opportunities and connections that have been offered to me. The alumni and fan base are unmatched! I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal as a graduate transfer with 2 years of eligibility. I am proud to say I will be a Penn State Alumnus.”

George is the 3rd player from Penn State to hit the portal since January. Running back Noah Cain transferred to LSU, while DL Jospeh Appiah-Darkwa is still in the portal at the moment.
