Penn State wins third straight by blowing out No. 17 Maryland
Penn State is arguably one of the hottest teams in the B1G right now.
Wednesday night, the Nittany Lions won their third-straight game in blowout fashion, downing No. 17 Maryland 78-61 in State College. It was also Penn State’s fourth win in five games and the second time it has knocked off a ranked opponent in the last two weeks.
Three Nittany Lions reached double figures in the win, led by Lamar Stevens who scored 24 points. Myles Dread added 17 points and Myreon Jones pitched in with 10 points off the bench.
Maryland struggled from the three-point line, making just one of its 17 attempts for the contest. The Terrapins also struggled to get to the free throw line, making just 11 trips.
With the win, Penn State is now 12-16 overall and 5-12 in B1G play. They’ve registered wins over No. 6 Michigan, Nebraska, Illinois and now No. 17 Maryland over the last two weeks.
Penn State is currently tied with Indiana for 11th in the B1G standings.
