Penn State is looking for a pass-catcher to step up in 2022 after Jahan Dotson’s departure for the NFL. Transfer wide receiver Mitchell Tinsley is looking to help fill that void.

The Nittany Lions shared a clip from practice where Tinsley drew some “oohs” and “ahhs” getting vertical to make a highlight reception.

Tinsley began his career in the junior college ranks and then was at Western Kentucky for the past 2 seasons. In 2021, Tinsley had 87 catches for 1,402 yards and 14 touchdowns. He arrived to State College with some familiarity facing Big Ten defenses. Tinsley had 4 catches for 68 yards against Indiana. Against Michigan State, Tinsley posted 7 receptions for 127 yards.

Penn State fans got a look at Tinsley’s talent this spring. After pledging to the Nittany Lions in December, he arrived for the spring semester. In the Nittany Lions’ spring game, Tinsley caught the first touchdown of the contest.

PSU fans will finally get to see Tinsley in regular-season action when the Nittany Lions travel to Purdue to face the Boilermakers on Sept. 1.
