Penn State WR pledge for 2023 de-commits amid push from SEC program
Penn State on Monday lost a pledge from their 2023 recruiting class.
According to On3’s Greg Pickel, Yazeed Haynes, a 6-foot-1, 170-pound wide receiver from outside of Philadelphia, has de-committed from the Nittany Lions.
Per Pickel, Haynes did not make an official announcement, opting instead to simply remove the words “Penn State football commit” from his Twitter bio.
And it appears that Georgia may be pushing to land the services of Haynes. He pledged to Penn State on June 12, 2 days after an official visit to State College. He was then offered by Georgia on June 23, eventually opting to de-commit from the Nittany Lions on Monday.
This is the 2nd time Haynes has pledged to a B1G program, only to reverse course. He originally committed to Rutgers on March 24 but de-committed less than 2 months later.
A 3-star recruit, he is considered by 247Sports the No. 15 player in the state of Pennsylvania.
