Penn State is amid $700 million of renovations at Beaver Stadium with work set to be completed by 2027. The 65-year-old is getting a facelift — a project that began in June 2023 — and part of that work will entail a brand-new press box.

On Saturday, the now-old press box was demolished with a host of Penn State fans looking on. As you can see in the video below, the winter weather didn’t do much to keep them away:

“It’s all about turning this into the palace you deserve … Everything on the west side is going to be done. It’s all being done for all of you and for the football program, because it’s the best program in the country with the best fans, and you deserve the best experience,” Penn State radio play-by-play man Steve Jones said, according to StateCollege.com.

It’s the biggest sign yet of the work that is to come at Beaver Stadium. Part of the old press box predated 1960, with a portion of it brought over from New Beaver Field, the Nittany Lions’ former home. It was expanded in 1980, but eventually became obsolete; the new one should be completed by 2026.

All in all, it’s part of some welcomed and much-needed renovations to the aging venue.
