Starting in place of injured redshirt senior Elijah Sindelar, Purdue redshirt freshman quarterback Jack Plummer took quite a beating in the first half vs. the No. 12 Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium on Saturday.

The Big Ten Network shared the extent of the damage on Twitter:

Racking up a startling seven sacks in the first 30 minutes, the Nittany Lions were faced with little resistance by the Boilermakers offensive line. Leading the way with three sacks, redshirt junior Shaka Toney now has five sacks on the season.

Junior Yetur Gross-Matos has added two sacks, while redshirt sophomore Fred Hansard and redshirt freshman Jayson Oweh have chipped in one apiece.

Largely due to the constant pressure he was under, Plummer completed just 5-15 passes for 74 yards in the first half.

Now in the third quarter, Purdue at Penn State is airing on ESPN.
