The Nittany Lions are riding high after their 1-0 start in B1G conference play.

Penn State went on the road and beat the No. 12 ranked Wisconsin Badgers 16-10. The Nittany Lions won the game on the backs of the defense as they turned Wisconsin over 3 times, including 2 interceptions in the final 3 minutes of the game.

Wisconsin ran 95 plays on Saturday and only scored 10 points in the loss.

At Tuesday’s press conference, redshirt sophomore CB Joey Porter Jr. praised his freshman understudy in Kalen King, who is also a CB.

Porter Jr., in Saturday’s win against Wisconsin, had 6 tackles and 1 pass deflection. In the 3 years he has been with the program Porter Jr. has 42 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 6 pass deflections and 0 interceptions.

King is a 5-foot-11, 170-pound CB out of Detroit, MI. He was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school. King was the No.16 CB in the country and the No. 8 out of Michigan according to 247sports composite rankings.

King should have the opportunity to get his feet wet with 2 of the next 3 games between Group of 5 and FCS opponents in Ball State and Villanova, with a game against the Auburn Tigers squeezed in the middle.
