Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons is showing a little B1G pride during the national championship game.

No, there are no B1G teams participating in Monday night’s contest, as No. 1 LSU and No. 3 Clemson battle for the College Football Playoff trophy. But Parsons decided to weigh in on what he was seeing through one half of the game.

Early in the game, when Clemson took a 17-7 lead, Parsons tweeted out sentiment complimenting Ohio State’s tough defense, and throwing a little shade at LSU.

“O[hio] State defense def[initely] way better than LSU’s defense,” Parsons wrote on Twitter.

Parsons obviously has first-hand knowledge of just how stingy Ohio State’s defense was this season, as Penn State lost to Ohio State 28-17 in late November. The Buckeyes were considered to be one of the best defensive teams in college football through most of the season.

But LSU’s defense got things going a little more as the game continued. After trailing 17-7, the Tigers scored 21 unanswered to end the first half with a 28-17 advantage through 30 minutes.

We’ll see if Clemson’s offense will have some answers for the LSU defense, much like it did a few weeks ago against Ohio State.
