The pre-draft process is heating up, and Penn State’s two potential first round picks have been impressive so far.

According to NFL draft scout Matt Miller, linebacker Micah Parsons and defensive end Jayson Oweh recently posted impressive 40-yard dash times.

Oweh reportedly posted a 4.38 and Parsons was at a 4.44.

Oweh’s time is particularly notable, as he currently weighs upwards of 256 pounds. At last season’s NFL Combine, the fastest defensive end was North Carolina State’s James Smith-Williams with a time of 4.60 seconds.

Parsons isn’t far off last season’s leader at linebacker, either. In 2020, Clemson’s Isaiah Simmons paced all linebackers with a time of 4.39. Parsons would have been the second-fastest linebacker at the combine last season with a 4.44 time.

It was important for Parson to test well after sitting out the season due to COVID-19, and it appears he’s doing so.

Parsons is a virtual lock to be picked in the first round, while Oweh’s mock draft slots are a little bit more unpredictable. Regardless, he should be off the board early on in the second round at the latest.

The 2021 NFL draft is set for April 29-May 1.
