Penn State's Micah Parsons the first B1G player to accept NFL Draft invitation
Micah Parsons is heading to Cleveland for the 2021 NFL Draft.
On Wednesday, the NFL released the first group of players who have accepted the invitation to attend this year’s draft from Cleveland. The former Penn State linebacker was the only player from the B1G on the list.
He is one of 10 players to accept the invitation from the first group. The full list:

- Patrick Surtain II, CB, Alabama
Despite opting out of the 2020 college football season, Parsons is expected to be a first-round selection in the 2021 NFL Draft, and could be a Top 10 pick. He’s considered the best linebacker available in this year’s class.
In two years at Penn State, Parsons totaled 191 tackles with 18 for loss and 6.5 sacks. The linebacker also forced 6 fumbles broke up 5 passes and recovered a fumble in his only two seasons with the Nittany Lions.
The 2021 NFL Draft is scheduled for Thursday, April 29 and will run through Saturday, May 1.
