P.J. Mustipher opened up to the media after practice about how first-year defensive coordinator Manny Diaz addressing the bye-week. One of the biggest keys for Penn State’s defense was staying mentally sharp.

The defense of Penn State has been playing great this season, as they ranked 13th in the nation in points allowed per game (14.8). Penn State has only allowed more than 14 points this season once in the 35-31 win in Week 1 over Purdue.

Penn State is coming off a 17-7 win at home against Northwestern in Week 5 as the weather played a significant factor of a low-scoring game. The Nittany Lions allowed just 241 total yards from the Wildcats.

Penn State will play its biggest game of the season as they take on an offense of Michigan that averages 43 points per game (7th in the nation).
