Micah Parsons was going to be one of the best defensive players in college football in 2020. Unfortunately, we didn’t get to see the Penn State linebacker in action for a final season, as he opted out to begin training for his career in the NFL.

That decision to opt out of the season didn’t hurt Parsons’ draft status one bit. Analysts are just as excited about the former Nittany Lion as they were before the college football season started.

Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner recently paid a huge compliment to Parsons, who is expected to be a Top 10 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

“Micah Parsons is the best LB prospect we’ve covered in 7 years of grading college [players],” Renner said.

Parsons was only on the field at Penn State for two seasons but made a huge impact in a short time. He totaled 192 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 6 forced fumbles and 5 pass break-ups during his time with the Nittany Lions.

His breakout year came in 2019, totaling 109 stops with 14 tackles for loss, 5 pass break-ups and 4 forced fumbles.

Where will we hear Parsons’ name called during the 2021 NFL Draft? So far, he seems to be a lock to be one of the first 10 players chosen in a few months.
