Penn State’s 2019 class might’ve gotten off to a slow start, but it’s rolling now.

The Lions got commitments from five recruits rated 4-stars or better in the last six weeks, and on Friday, they added a sixth.

Four-star defensive lineman Hakeem Beamon announced his verbal commitment to Penn State:

The 6-3, 254-pound recruit is the No. 17 defensive end and the No. 235 player overall in the 2019 class.

He has a loaded list of offers which include Alabama, Ohio State and Virginia Tech. The No. 7 recruit in the state of Virginia was once a North Carolina pledge, but he backed off his commitment in March.

It’s another nice addition for Penn State, which didn’t have a defensive lineman recruit in its 2019 class. The Lions now have the No. 3 class in the B1G and the No. 15 class nationally.

Including Penn State’s two top recruits Brandon Smith and Devyn Ford, the Lions already have verbal commitments from 3 of the top 7 recruits in the state of Virginia.
