Penn State will be without reserve tight end Brent Wilkerson for the foreseeable future.

Wilkerson was suspended by Penn State, the team announced in a statement on Tuesday night after he was charged with one count of indecent assault, a second-degree misdemeanor, and one count of harassment.

The incident allegedly occurred on Feb. 23 and charges were filed on March 8, according to Pennlive.com. His preliminary hearing will be on April 6.

“We are aware of the charges against Mr. Wilkerson,” a statement from Penn State Athletics said. “He has been suspended indefinitely from all football and team activities until we have more information. We will not have any additional comment as this is an ongoing legal matter.”

Fight On State first reported the details on Tuesday.

Wilkerson had six catches for 39 yards as a junior, and in the absence of Kyle Carter, he was a candidate to take on a bigger workload in 2016.
