A Penn State defensive back is reportedly in the NCAA transfer portal again.

On Tuesday, Sean Fitz of 247Sports reported that AJ Lytton is no longer listed on Penn State’s roster and has hit the transfer portal this offseason. He initially started his college career at Florida State before his arrival in State College.

Per his player profile, Lytton appeared in 11 of Penn State’s 13 games during the 2021 season. He was credited with making 2 tackles during a 7-6 year for the Nittany Lions.

No stats from the 2020 season were provided.

A Maryland native, Lytton spent two seasons at Florida State before transferring to Penn State. In 2019, he played in 12 games and made a start for the Seminoles. He totaled 14 tackles, including 1 for loss, and forced a fumble. A year earlier, he played in 10 games and also tallied 14 stops with 2 pass break-ups and an interception.

Lytton was a 4-star member of the 2018 recruiting class, ranking as the No. 50 overall prospect in the cycle. 247Sports’ composite rankings also listed him as the No. 7 cornerback in the class.

Lytton still has a year of eligibility remaining and a redshirt year available to utilize at his next destination.
