There will reportedly be another new face in Happy Valley this year.

247Sports is reporting that former NFL offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains is joining the Penn State staff in a role as an offensive analyst. He will fill the vacancy left by Ty Howle, who was promoted to tight ends coach recently.

Loggains has spent his entire coaching career in the NFL. He was with the Tennessee Titans from 2008-13, beginning as the offensive quality control coordinator before being promoted to quarterbacks coach in 2010 and then offensive coordinator for the 2012 and 2013 seasons.

He’s been with four organizations since his time with the Titans. Loggains was the quarterbacks coach for the Cleveland Browns in 2014 and was hired for the same job with the Chicago Bears a year later. In 2016 and 2017, he was promoted to offensive coordinator in Chicago, then took the role as OC with the Miami Dolphins in 2018.

Loggains’ most recent stop was with the New York Jets, where he was the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the past two seasons.

Penn State is coming off a 4-5 season in 2020.
