Former Penn State and New York Giants defensive line coach Sean Spencer has landed a new gig, according to a report from Bruce Feldman of The Athletic.
Saturday night, Feldman reported that Spencer is making a sudden change and will be headed to Gainesville to become the co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Florida. He was previously expected to join Mike Elko’s staff at Duke.
Spencer spent six years at Penn State — and was on James Franklin’s staff for nine seasons — before taking a job with the Giants in the NFL. He was with the Nittany Lions from 2014-19.

Spencer was the defensive line coach in New York for two seasons. It didn’t take him long to find a new gig, joining Billy Napier’s Gators staff ahead of the 2022 season.
Florida underwent a coaching change after the school fired Dan Mullen late in the 2021 season. The Gators are looking to re-establish themselves as a power in the SEC East.
