Former Penn State star TE having outstanding rookie NFL season
A Penn State product is balling out during his rookie campaign in the NFL. Rookie tight end Pat Freiermuth, a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers, has emerged as one of the best first-year players at his position.
Atlanta Falcons rookie tight end Kyle Pitts was more heralded heading into this season but Freiermuth is the highest graded rookie at the position (80.6), according to PFF College.

Freiermuth has amassed 22 receptions, 202 yards, and three touchdowns this season.
The 6-foot-5, 258-pound Freiermuth was selected by the Steelers in the second round. Freiermuth was the Kwalick–Clark Tight End of the Year and a First-team All-B1G selection in 2020.
Penn State is 6-3 overall and fourth place in the B1G East. The Nittany Lions most recently defeated host Maryland 31-14. Next up for Penn State is a home contest vs. No. 6 Michigan on Nov. 13 (12 p.m. EST/ABC).
