Saquon Barkley joins NFL's illustrious 2,000-yard club
Saquon Barkley has produced some memorable moments throughout his NFL career. He took things to the next level upon joining the Philadelphia Eagles, and Barkley is now a member of an ultra-elite group.
Facing the Dallas Cowboys, Barkley produced another 100-yard performance, finishing the game with 167 yards on the ground. One final big run in the 4th quarter also pushed Barkley over the 2,000-yard mark for the season, becoming the 9th player in NFL history to reach the plateau in a season.
Here’s the historic carry:

Barkley is the first player with 2,000 yards since Derrick Henry rushed for 2,027 yards during the 2020 season with the Tennessee Titans. But the former Penn State star has one more game in the regular season, and that gives Barkley a shot at more history.
Eric Dickerson still holds the single-season rushing record with 2,105 yards during the 1984 season. Adrian Peterson is the player to come closest to that mark with 2,097 yards in 2012.
That means Barkley needs just 100 yards on the ground to tie Dickerson in the season finale, a fitting matchup against his former team, the New York Giants. New York also just happens to have one of the worst defenses in the NFL, averaging 142.6 rushing yards allowed per game this season.
Can Barkley claim the single-season record in the season finale?
