Sean Clifford was fired up after Saturday night’s win in Happy Valley, and for good reason. Penn State’s 28-20 victory gives the team a pair of Top 25 victories through the first three weeks of the season, defeating Wisconsin and Auburn.

After leading the Nittany Lions to a victory and a 3-0 start, Clifford made his way around Beaver Stadium to celebrate with the fans who attended Saturday’s White Out. Then he hit the area where Auburn’s band was stationed.

Clifford was sure to send the Tiger band off with a goodbye wave after handing the team a loss. The end of ABC’s broadcast captured the moment:

It’s possible that Clifford was waving to folks behind the band as he made that turn. The camera angle isn’t the best from ABC.

Clifford had one of the best games of his Penn State career, completing 28-of-32 passes for 280 yards and a touchdown while rushing for an additional 16 yards in the victory. His two touchdown passes went to Jahan Dotson and Brenton Strange.

Penn State had already proven itself as a Top 10 team through the first two games of the season. Saturday’s win only validates the Nittany Lions’ standing further.

Penn State now plays Villanova before jumping back into B1G play in two weeks.
